Store bought products are full of crap that is added to the product to make it cheaper for the company to make, but it can be harmful to you and your family. As American's we rely on stores to provide us with our every day needs. Wouldn't it be great to create products you use everyday for a fraction of the price and actually know what is in it?! Well now you can. I have been making my own household products for about a year now and as I explore these new ways I have noticed that I look and feel better.
Body Wash:
Mix together and enjoy.
10 drops Essential Oil of your choice*
*If you get a scented Castile Soap you don’t have to add Essential Oils.
Note: I noticed that towards the end of the bottle this mix got a little thick, so I just added a tiny bit of water and shook it and it was fine.

Shampoo:
¼ c homemade coconut milk or canned coconut milk*
⅓ c baby shampoo of your choice
1 tsp vitamin E, olive or almond oil
10 to 20 drops of your choice of essential oils
Shake before use.

Note: This shampoo is especially great if you color your hair! Love it!
Note: I only make the coconut milk required of the shampoo because I don’t know what to do with the leftover. Let me know if you find something to do with it!

Deodorant:
5-6 tablespoons coconut oil
1/8 cup arrowroot powder
1/8 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup baking soda
Several drops of bergamot oil [optional]
Note: This will seem weird at first because you have to apply it with your fingers but it works super well!
Shaving Cream:
Shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, rosemary oil, and peppermint oil are the ingredients you’ll need to make this natural shaving cream.
Note: This will look really thick but trust me, it works great! Softest legs ever after! Also good for men.

Bug Spray/Make-up/Make-up Brush Cleaner:
These are all really easy to make!
Note: For make-up, if you have darker skin use more cocoa powder.

Laundry Soap:
1 bar of soap (any kind you want)*
1 cup of Borax
1 cup of washing soda
a big pot ( that holds more than 2 gallons)
a grater
a funnel
a long spoon
2 empty gallon jugs/containers
*I use ½ a bar of unscented soap and then add some essential oils for scent. I only use half a bar of soap because it tends to get way too thick.

I have yet to find a good toothpaste recipe so let me know if you find one!
